Luis Suarez has given Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham his seal of approval and suggested the 22-year-old could fill his boots at Barcelona one day.
The Catalan giants are said to be on the hunt for Suarez’ long-term replacement, with the former Liverpool ace set to turn 33 in January.
In an interview with Onefootball, the Uruguayan was asked about his favourite frontmen in the game right now.
He went on to list a number of young stars who have caught his eye and, with Barca on the look-out, revealed he has been really impressed by Chelsea’s ‘incredible’ Abraham.
“There are many young strikers who are playing very well this season,” Suarez said.
“Personally, I have certain number of young and old strikers that I like to see them because of their skills. For example, I like Abraham, Chelsea’s No9.
“In my opinion he is an incredible striker with a good finishing and who moves incredible despite of his youth.
“Another one is Maxi Gomez and not only because he is from Uruguay, but also because he has a lot of characteristics and skills which are the ones that big teams are looking for in one striker.
“Obviously, Lautaro Martinez is playing at high level this season too…”
However, Suarez added he has no plans to hang up his boots just yet, especially with another World Cup just around the corner.
The experienced frontman is still banging in the goals for club and country, with 10 goals in 15 games for Barcelona this season, and is the fourth-highest scorer in his club’s history.
“If you ask me now I would say that yes I want to play the Qatar World Cup,” he added.
“I’m a fighter and I’m ambitious so I want to be there.
“That’s my wish but it’s difficult to say where you’ll be in two or three years from now.”
